    If you are in Florence county it's always a good idea to stop by Porcupine Lake. Brule Mountain is a magnificent local ski area. There's so much to do here at Porcupine Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Florence County Park Campground is a brilliant place for that. So much cool stuff in close proximity to Porcupine Lake, just mind-blowing. The slopes of Ski Brule are so inviting nobody can resist; Americinn - Iron River, Mi is a tremendous place  
   to get some rest.
Go for a hike on the Lauterman Trail, and whitewater paddling is great on Pine River. After a long day outdoors Iron Inn Motel is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two, and Brule River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. Porcupine Lake is a good spot of normal rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February.
For the period of the
 
               summertime months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Porcupine Lake, and the night is a bit cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Porcupine Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Dendro Eco Trail, and Porcupine Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Chipmunk Rapids Campground is a wonderful local campground.
