Popple Lake is always a pleasure to visit. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Popple Lake while night lows are generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Popple Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Eau Claire here, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Chippewa River. There's so much to do here at Popple Lake that
you need to camp here for a while, O'Neil Creek Campground is a great location for that, and there's whitewater on Duncan Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Popple Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Wissota State Park, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Hay Meadow Trail.
