A normal amount of rain falls here at Phillips Lake; throughout September this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Phillips Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Thornton's Whitewater Rafting Resort is a fine place to camp nearby, and after a long day outdoors Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. Dry warm beds await       you at Americas Best Inns-Iron Mountain, and Horseshoe Falls is an inspiring spot to take a look at while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Tranquil Vista Campgrounds is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Pike River - South Branch. Summertime highs at Phillips Lake generally tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; during the dark hours in                  the wintertime at Phillips Lake temperatures plunge to the-10's. Phillips Creek is a good location to stop at, and paddling on Pike River - North Branch is so much fun. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Phillips Lake.
