Through the summertime here at Perch Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Iron Mountain here. The amount of rain that falls at Perch Lake is close to the national average; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so
wonderful. You can never get enough of the fine skiing at Ski Brule, and swing by Lauterman Creek it's a pleasant location to stop by. If you came to camp Perch Lake Campground is a fine location to do that; since you're here you
can take a hike along the Lauterman Trail. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Brule Mountain; get covered with water paddling on Pine River.

That untouched beauty remains only in a few unique areas left over from bygone days. Paint River Hills is truly one of those areas.
The highlight of Paint River Hills Campground is its hiking trail along the Paint River. The loop trail, about half-mile long, winds through and around the rock bluffs and hills that form the banks of the Paint River and for years has been the playground of local youngsters. The name “Paint River Hills” is the term used by locals to describe the location of the campground. Youngsters have named other areas such as Peeper Hollow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, White Pine Lookout, Fairy Tale Swamp, Rock Fort, Thistle Swamp and Camel Back Lookout.
