Grand Geneva is a magnificent local ski area, and don't leave Peat Lake without first going for a hike along the Lake Defiance Nature Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Peat Lake has to offer, you can camp at Grass Lake Marina and RV Park, and going for a hike on the Tamarack View Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Wilmot       mountain is great, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Mchenry. The amount of rain that falls at Peat Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest of the months is February. Antioch Golf Club is a golf course next to Peat Lake; Comfort Inn & Suites is a good spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You could also explore Channel Lake while you're here at Peat Lake; it's close by, and if you've                  had enough of Peat Lake, Camp Lake is close by. If only every spot had this much outdoors enjoyable stuff, what a great planet it would be. There are delightful locations to look at along the Volo Bog Interpretive Trail, and Peat Lake is a pleasant place to visit for more than one day, Silver Lake Marina is a pleasant place to camp nearby. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Peat Lake get into the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Peat Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
