There are some glorious whitewater spots on Pike River - South Branch; some of the water close by flows, like Beecher Creek. People from Marinette love to come to Papoose Lake; if you need a place to stay Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Papoose Lake, you'll find Beecher Lake which is a charming lake; Iron Mountain-Days Inn is a       wonderful spot to get some rest. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Papoose Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Papoose Lake are in the 0's. Norway Mountain has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff; Amberg Campgrounds and Bar is a magnificent local campground. This place, Papoose Lake, it definitely                  has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Pemebonwon - South Branch; Tranquil Vista Campgrounds is a good campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. The annual rain here at Papoose Lake is about average; during September this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
