This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Popple River offers some great whitewater, and if you came to camp Lake Hilbert Campground is a great location to do that. The amount of precipitation that falls at Oneonta Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is when it's the driest. Near Oneonta Lake you come across the Lauterman Trail which       is a delightful hiking trail, and camping at Laura-Gordon Lakes Campground is always a magnificent experience. There are some great whitewater spots on Pine River, and going for a hike on the Dendro Eco Trail is always a fine adventure. You're most likely keen on lakes, Forest Lake is one of those close by; after a long day outdoors Best Western Lakewood Lodge is a good location to spend a night or two. Summertime at Oneonta Lake comes with high temperatures                  in the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's.
