Through the long summer days at Old Elk Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Old Elk Lake. This is a popular location for folks from Menomonie. There's so much to do here at Old Elk Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Menomonie Campground is a tremendous       spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Eau Claire - Days Inn West is a nice choice, and Red Cedar River is a brilliant whitewater spot close by. The amount of rain that falls at Old Elk Lake is close to the national average; during June this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Super 8 Motel - Eau Claire is a delightful place to get some rest; you can stay the night at Twin Springs Resort                  Campground.
