Sure, Gates Lake is near Nichols Lake, and Squaw Creek D31.18 Dam is a picturesque site, positively worth going to. Soar down the rapids of Flambeau River - North Fork in a kayak. Summer at Nichols Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Nichols Lake. Nichols Lake gets a common amount of annual       precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout August, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Newman Springs Ski Trail, and Super 8 Motel - Phillips is a nice place to get some rest. You're probably keen on lakes, Squaw Creek Flowage 6 is one of those close by. There's so much to do here at Nichols Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Comfort Cove Resort is a nice place                  for that. But wait, there's more to do next to Nichols Lake. Get dripping wet paddling on Flambeau River - South Fork; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Park Falls is a perfect location to spend a night or two.
