There's so much to do here at Newman Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Smith River Campground is a great place for that, and you can go for a hike on the Newman Springs Ski Trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the area in close proximity to Newman Lake has to offer. Whitewater       paddling is good on Flambeau River - South Fork; if you get bored of Newman Lake you could also go to nearby Nettie B Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Flambeau River - North Fork, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Park Falls is a delightful location to spend a night or two. For the period of the summer here at Newman Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to                  the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's, and night lows during the wintertime for Newman Lake tend to be in the-10's.
