Summer at Muskrat Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while Muskrat Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Chetek is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. The amount       of rainfall that falls at Muskrat Lake is close to the national average; most of the rain falls through August, and February meanwhile is the driest month. What would winter be without some skiing at Christie Mountain, and at Muskrat Lake you always meet someone from Eau Claire. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. There are wonderful locations to look at along the Hickory Ridge Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Viking                  Motel. A scenic lake like Dickey Lake close to Muskrat Lake is a glorious spot to stop by, and you can go for a hike on the Hardwood Trail. There's so much to do here at Muskrat Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Loon Lake Camp Grounds is a splendid place for that; if you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River offers some pleasant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful.
