If you're visiting Muskrat Lake from Eau Claire, you won't be the only one, and a splendid nearby hotel is Viking Motel. Hit the slopes at Christie Mountain close by; Muskrat Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Kamp Sugarrbush Bar and Campgrnd is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are pleasant spots to discover along the Hickory Ridge Trail; get yourself       into a kayak and hit Duncan Creek. An average amount of rain falls at Muskrat Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is commonly the driest month. There's so much to do here at Muskrat Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Loon Lake Camp Grounds is a splendid place for that, and a lake nearby is Atwood Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River offers some glorious whitewater, and you can go for a hike on the                  Hardwood Trail. This lake is so wonderful. So many fun things to do at Muskrat Lake, so little time. Going for a hike on the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail is always a great adventure, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Chetek is a wonderful choice. Summertime at Muskrat Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's.
