From a rainfall point of view Muddy Lake is a pretty typical place; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Bass Lake is a good lake close to Muddy Lake, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Eau       Claire River. Camping is available at Brookside Village, and Comfort Inn Wittenberg is a fine place to get some rest. A delightful place to camp here at Muddy Lake is Mayflower Lake Campgrounds, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites WAUSAU is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. High temperatures at Muddy Lake throughout the summertime are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
