Timber Trail Camp Ground is a great campground nearby, and if you come at the right time of year, Pewaukee River offers some good whitewater. Glide down the rapids of Menomonee River in a kayak, and Sunburst is a very popular ski area close by. For the duration of the days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Mud Lake, and all through the night                  it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; night lows at Mud Lake through the wintertime usually fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
