There's whitewater on Upper Tamarack River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and Mud Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Rosenthal's Resort is a tremendous location to camp nearby. After a long day outdoors Best Western American Heritage Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake. When the night sets in temperatures       fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures descend to the-10's. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn Shell Lake, and there are some great whitewater spots on St. Croix River. Stay the night at Highland Park Campground, and for you golfers we recommend close by Black Bear Golf Club.
