Oconto River - North Branch is a fine whitewater spot near Mud Lake; dry warm beds await you at Kiryat Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. Fawn Lake Campground is a nice campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors Settle Inn and Suites Shawano is a glorious place to spend a night or two.       So many amusing things to do at Mud Lake, so little time. A perfect place for whitewater paddling close to Mud Lake is Wolf River, and White Clay Lake Lodge is a wonderful local campground. The annual precipitation here at Mud Lake is about average; September is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. There are other locations here than Mud Lake, for example Bahr Lake, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck                  because Shawano Lake Golf Club is around here. At Mud Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's.
