Mud Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Smith River Campground is a brilliant local campground; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Phillips. A delightful spot to camp here at Mud Lake is Fishtrap Campground; while you're here you can take a hike along the Newman Springs Ski Trail. Grant Spring is an inspiring site to stop at during your stay, and get your pulse rate up on       the good whitewater of Flambeau River - South Fork. From a rainfall point of view Mud Lake is a pretty typical location; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Throughout the warm months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Mud Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 10's while Mud Lake night                  low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the area in the vicinity of Mud Lake has to offer. This lake is so wonderful.
