A lake nearby is Brusher Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Apple River offers some perfect whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Lakeview Park and Campground since you're here at Mud Lake, and a round of golf at nearby Five Flags Country Club Estate is a good way to kill some time. Dry warm beds await you at Luck Country Inn; if you get bored of Mud Lake you could also have a look at nearby       East Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend St. Croix River, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites St. Croix Valley, Wi is a fine choice. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the area near Mud Lake has to offer. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Markee Spring, and the skiing at Trollhaugen is good. Saint Croix National Scenic River is a very                  glorious spot to stop by in close proximity to Mud Lake, and a glorious place to camp here at Mud Lake is Apple River Campgrounds North. This lake is so wonderful. Wild Mountain is a tremendous local ski area. Mud Lake is a good place of typical precipitation; June is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Mud Lake. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's.
