Through the summer months at Mud Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the-10's. Mud Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is frequently the driest month. A quick trip to Balsam       Branch near Mud Lake is a great idea, and a splendid nearby hotel is Americinn - New Richmond, Wi. If you're here at Mud Lake, do take a trip to Hickory Point; get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of St. Croix River. This lake is so wonderful. Wapogasset Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Apple River. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend                  a winter day is on the slopes of close by Wild Mountain, and Mud Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Cast-a-way Trailer Park is a magnificent local campground. A lake nearby is Joe Lake, and do pay a visit to Saint Croix National Scenic River while you're here at Mud Lake. Trollhaugen is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and a nice place to camp here at Mud Lake is Port Valhalla Campground. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do near Mud Lake.
