From a rain point of view Mud Lake is a quite common place; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. Hiking along the East Bluff Trail is perfect fun, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close       by Mason Lake. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Grottos Trail, and obviously, this is a wonderful neighborhood for folks who like lakes, McCall Lake is a lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Wagon wheel Campground, and hey, Gotta ski right? Christmas Mountain is a pleasant site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. A great place to camp here at Mud Lake is Lake Mason Campground; a brilliant close by hotel is Super 8                  Portage. So many fun things to do at Mud Lake, so little time. Everybody close by loves skiing at Cascade Mountain, and paddling on Baraboo River is so much fun. Why not take a look at nearby O'Keefe Creek since you're here at Mud Lake, and drift down the rapids of Skillet Creek in a kayak. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Mud Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
