Drift down the rapids of Pike River in a kayak, and Lake Shangri La Dam is a place that is near Mud Lake. Going for a hike on the Lake Defiance Nature Trail is always a good adventure; if you get bored of Mud Lake you could also take a look at nearby Paasch Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. The annual rain here at Mud Lake is about average; August       is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Raging Buffalo Snowboard Park (Snowboarding only - no skiing) is one of those things you just have to do; after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a good location to spend a night or two. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Wilmot mountain if you're here, and close by you come across the Volo Bog                  Interpretive Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Happy Acres Kamp Ground is a great spot for that, and dry warm beds await you at Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Kenosha. At Mud Lake all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the winter are mostly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Mud Lake. That right there is a load already, but it keeps on going; Mud Lake has it all. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Root River, and the Tamarack View Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Fox River Recreation, and Deer Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. This lake is so wonderful.
