All the outdoors amusing things in the Gogebic Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. If you need a place to stay Hurley Days Inn is a nice choice. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Mud Lake. Near Mud Lake you hit upon the Newman Springs Ski Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Big Powderhorn       Mountain. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Gogebic Range. If you come at the right time of year, Montreal River - West Fork offers some pleasant whitewater, and why not camp at Big 6 RV Resort and Campground while you're here at Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Really good skiing awaits you at Whitecap Mountain, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Montreal River. A great close by hotel is Budget Host                  Cloverland Motel Ironwood, and there's some flowing water nearby, Mud Creek is a stream you can take a look at during your stay. If you came for an overnight stay Little Girls Point Campground is a perfect location to camp, and do stop at Horseshoe Lake, it's a pretty lake. Mud Lake is located in the Gogebic Range. During the warm months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Mud Lake while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Mud Lake sink into the 0's.
