Mud Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; through August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Good hiking is available along the Popple       Ridge Snowmobile Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Crandon Inn & Suites. Wolf River is a tremendous whitewater spot in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and Richardson Lake Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Eds Lake Trail System, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Lake; Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail is a nice local trail. During the warm months, highs frequently                  are in the 70's at Mud Lake, and the nighttime is a little colder of course, frequently in the 50's.
