    If you are in Dane county it's always a good idea to stop by Mud Lake. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Tyrol Basin since you're here; if you need a location to stay Motel 6 Lake Baraboo is a perfect choice. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Mud Lake reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Lake dipping down  
   into the 0's through winter nights.
Lots of people from Madison come to Mud Lake, and Baraboo River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake. After a long day outdoors Cedarberry Inn is a good place to spend a night or two, and a glorious place to camp here at Mud Lake is Merry Mac's Camp'n. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wisconsin
 
               River, and there are fine spots to discover along the East Bluff Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the East Bluff Woods Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and there is a pleasant hiking trail nearby called the Grottos Trail. Alder Pond is a wonderful lake near Mud Lake, and one of the dominant features of the surroundings of Mud Lake is Sugarloaf Hill. Camping at Crystal Lake Campground is always a delightful experience; what would winter be without some skiing at Devils Head.
Mud Lake is a good place of common rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is when it's the driest.
