All our national parks are delightful places to take a look at, and Ice Age National Scenic Trail is no exception. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Duck Creek Campground is a good place for that. A perfect close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Deforest, Wisconsin, and why not head up to Cascade Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. Any time is a nice time at Mud Lake if you like the       outdoors. If you get bored of Mud Lake, you could also take a look at nearby Wyocena Millpond 84. You'll meet a lot of people from Madison here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Little Bluff Campground. Mud Lake is a good site of typical precipitation; September is when you get the most rain here while January is usually the driest month. Through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at                  Mud Lake, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Mud Lake fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
