Mud Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll like Mud Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Lake; Hickory Ridge Trail is a fine local trail; Mud       Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Lake Wissota State Park is a great site to camp nearby. Playing golf is lots of fun at Lake Wissota Golf Course; get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Duncan Creek. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Hay Meadow Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Chippewa Falls, Wi. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is a place with many visitors from Eau Claire, and                  if you like skiing, you're in luck; Christie Mountain is pretty near. Summertime highs at Mud Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at O'Neil Creek Campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Chippewa River. This lake is so wonderful.
