If you need a spot to stay Best Western Holiday House is a great choice. This lake is one of the great places here in the Gogebic Range. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Marengo River. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Day Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the       North Country Trail, and you'll find a wonderful lake called Beaver Lake. For the period of the summer months at Mud Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the 0's. So many cool things to do here in the Gogebic Range, too good to be true. Going for a hike on the Great Divide Snowmobile                  Trail is always a great adventure, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Brunsweiler River. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake. Go for a hike on the Black Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chippewa River Campground is a great spot for that. Don't forget to take a pleasant little journey to Hell Hole Creek; while you're here, you could also go to lovely Moquah Lake. All year is a great time in the Gogebic Range if you have a thing about the outdoors. Dry warm beds await you at Ashland Super 8 Motel, and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a great national park.
