     Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn & Suites; what would winter be without some skiing at Granite Peak. Council Grounds State Park is a good campground nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Wisconsin River. The yearly precipitation here at Morrison Lake is about average; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
That right there is a heap already, but it carries on; Morrison
 
   Lake has it all. Lakes are such calm locations, why not visit Grandfather Flowage 2295 close to Morrison Lake, and The Outpost Campground is a pleasant local campground. During the summer months, highs commonly are in the 70's at Morrison Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 10's while Morrison Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-10's. This lake is  
               so wonderful. There are other places here than Morrison Lake, for example June Lake; get wet paddling on New Wood River.
Tomahawk Super 8 Motel is a great place to get some rest, and this is a popular site for folks from Merrill.

This is a 4-5 hour drive from the n/w side of Chicago . . . and *definately* worth it. Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane....

For the Midwest only Lutsen in Minn. can be compared!
The vertical keeps you challenged unlike the resorts in the U.P. and the rest of the Midwest! Only 3 hrs from Milwaukee!!!
love it if you are in the Midwest and can't head WEST!!!...
