Mill Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. You can take a little journey to Beckman Dam since you're here at Mill Pond, and almost certainly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Mill Pond 22 is just a very short distance away. A common amount of rain falls here at Mill Pond; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. A tremendous site for whitewater

lakes. Rock River is a lake around here, and you can stay the night at Rivers Edge Camp Ground. Through the warmest time of the year at Mill Pond highs are regularly in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. Through
the winter highs are in the 20's; night lows at Mill Pond through the winter usually descend into the 0's. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Mill Pond has to offer, you can camp at Sugar Shores RV Resort, and at Mill Pond you always meet someone from Janesville.

Large trees shape and shade the campsites. A boat launch for small boats and canoes, in the lower part of the preserve, provides access to the Pecatonica River. An interpretive booklet is available at the trail head to guide hikers along a 1 1/2 mile nature trail. An additional 8 miles of trail are available to hike at your pleasure. Campers, even on the busiest weekends, can be assured of finding a site in this remote campground, The campground is located four miles northeast of Pecatonica, offering easy access to activities at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds. The campground is open from mid April until mid November,weather permitting. There are 49 sites (4-50 amp and 45- 30 amp hookups), dump station, and horseshoe pits. No firewood may be brought into the campground as a result of the Emerald Ash Borer. Firewood can be purchased at the campground.
