McNamar Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; most of the rain falls during September, and February is when it's the driest. A fine close by hotel is Americinn - Medford, Wi, and camping is available at North Twin Lake Campground.

Paddling on Jump River - South Fork is so much fun, and Sleep Inn Abbotsford is a great location to get some rest. Through the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at McNamar Lake. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for McNamar Lake.
