Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Gogebic Range. Best Western Lake Superior Lodge is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and Grant Lake is a splendid lake close by. During the warm months at McCloud Lake temperatures are regularly in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 10's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at McCloud Lake dip into the-10's. All year
is a delightful time in the Gogebic Range if you adore the outdoors. East Fork Ghost Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth a visit. There's so much to do here at McCloud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chippewa River Campground is a wonderful spot for that.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Chippewa River - West Fork. You'll need more than a day to look at everything McCloud Lake has to offer, you

can camp at Boulder Lodge Resort. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Lakewoods Resort & Golf Forest Ridges Golf Course, and McCloud Lake is right by the Black Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
McCloud Lake is located in the Gogebic Range. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Lakes? Sure, Hope Lake is around here; the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. There are some fine whitewater spots on Marengo River, and why not take a refreshing hike along the North Country Trail.
McCloud Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
