Go for a hike on the Black Lake Trail, and Mineral Lake is a wonderful lake nearby. High temperatures at McCarthy Lake throughout the summertime months are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at McCarthy Lake plunge into the 0's. An average amount of precipitation falls       at McCarthy Lake; August is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at McCarthy Lake. If you need a place to stay Americinn - Ashland, Wi is a delightful choice, and going for a hike on the Great Divide Snowmobile Trail is always a fine adventure. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Brunsweiler River, and Day Lake Campground is a perfect campground                  nearby. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Gogebic Range. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground, and there are other places here than McCarthy Lake, for example Potter Lake. So much exciting stuff in the Gogebic Range, just amazing. There's some flowing water close by, Brush Creek is a stream you can stop at while here; dry warm beds await you at Ashland Super 8 Motel.
