All through the wintertime highs are typically in the 10's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Marengo Lake temperatures descend to the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Marengo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chippewa River Campground is a fine place for that, and Best Western Lake       Superior Lodge is a fine place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. On a fine day at Marengo Lake you can take a hike along the North Country Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Marengo Lake has to offer, you can camp at Day Lake Campground. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is bountiful here in the Gogebic Range. You could also take a look at Indian Lake while you're here at Marengo Lake; it's close by, and there is a                  great hiking trail nearby called the Great Divide Snowmobile Trail. Marengo Lake gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; throughout September this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Any time is a brilliant time at Marengo Lake if you adore the outdoors. Marengo Lake is not the only location close by, Birch Lake is a close by lake, and close by you hit upon the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail which is a good hiking trail. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Gogebic Range. The panoramas at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore will blow your mind, and don't forget to take a great little journey to Hawkins Creek. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Ashland is a brilliant site to spend a night or two, and get covered with water paddling on Marengo River.
