Whitewater paddling is great on Wisconsin River, and Lake Mable is not far at all from Merrill. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wisconsin River; playing golf is lots of fun at Inshalla Country Club. If you came for an overnight stay Sure-wood Forest Campground is a delightful place to camp, and if you need a place to stay Tomahawk Super 8 Motel is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Summertime highs at Lake Mable regularly tend to be in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 10's while Lake Mable overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. a pleasant time. Muskellunge Resort is a nice campground nearby, and hiking along the Bearskin State Park Trail is brilliant fun. The amount of rain that falls at Lake Mable is close to the national average; August is the wettest
month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Lakes are such serene sites, why not pop by Clark Lake near Lake Mable, and do take a look at Kings Dam since you're here.

Some buddies and I go up for a few days every winter and I have to say, this is the best you're going to find without doubling your driving time or hopping on an airplane.... i have lived and snowboarded in Colorado and Austria. For the Midwest only Lutsen in Minn. can be compared! The vertical keeps you challenged unlike the resorts in the U.P. and the rest of the Midwest! Only 3 hrs from Milwaukee!!! love it if you are in the Midwest and can't head WEST!!!... |
