The beauty of Loon Lake is reason enough to stop by. Loon Lake gets a normal amount of annual rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Throughout the months of summer here at Loon Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are regularly in the 10's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Loon Lake temperatures fall to

Good hiking is available along the Lauterman Trail, and Budget Host Inn Iron Mountain is a delightful place to get some rest. You'll meet a lot of people from Iron Mountain here, and do check out Grass Lake, it's a gorgeous lake. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Camping at Loon Lake is good fun, Golden Eagle Park and Campground is a good local campground; Spread Eagle Golf Course is a good golf course close by.

Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pine River; some nearby water includes Meyers Creek. A magnificent nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN, and why not camp at Keyes Lake Campground since you're here at Loon Lake.
