This lake is so wonderful. There's perfect hiking along the Hay Meadow Trail, and Duncan Creek has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool things just keep reading. A pleasant site to camp here at Long Lake is Brunet Island State Park, and if you're going to from Eau Claire,       you won't be the only one. You can never get enough of the tremendous skiing at Christie Mountain, and the Deer Fly Trail offers hiking at its best. Lakes? Sure, Planning Lake is close at hand; dry warm beds await you at Glen Loch Motel. Camping is available at Ward's Flambeau Resort, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chippewa River. Long Lake is a good place of typical rainfall; the                  month of September is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February. Summer at Long Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's, and night lows at Long Lake during the winter mostly descend into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful.
