There's always Danbury Dam to visit next to Long Lake; you can stay the night at Du Four's Pine Tree Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Upper Tamarack River. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Long Lake has to offer, you can camp at Gulden's Yellow River Campgrounds, and it's a great idea to visit Loon Creek. After a long day outdoors Best       Western Northwoods Lodge is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and a round of golf at nearby Yellow Lake Golf Course is a brilliant way to kill some time. Having a brilliant time at Long Lake is easy. Near Long Lake you stumble on the Markville Snowmobile Trail which is a delightful hiking trail, and a delightful lake like Hayden Lake is a fine place to visit. Lodge at Crooked Lake is a great location to get some rest, and Round Lake is a pleasant lake close                  by. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lower Tamarack River, and going for a hike on the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail is always a great adventure. Long Lake gets a common amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. For the period of the warm months at Long Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's.
