The snow is glorious at Brule Mountain; there are plenty of folks from Iron Mountain here at Little Riley Lake. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Ski Brule; you're perhaps interested in lakes, Riley Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Little Riley Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is when it's the driest. Lakes are fine;

paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Pine River, and going for a hike along the Lauterman Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. There's so much to do here at Little Riley Lake
that you need to camp here for a while, Lauterman Lake Walk-In Campground is a pleasant place for that, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Dendro Eco Trail.

The highlight of Paint River Hills Campground is its hiking trail along the Paint River. The loop trail, about half-mile long, winds through and around the rock bluffs and hills that form the banks of the Paint River and for years has been the playground of local youngsters. The name “Paint River Hills” is the term used by locals to describe the location of the campground. Youngsters have named other areas such as Peeper Hollow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, White Pine Lookout, Fairy Tale Swamp, Rock Fort, Thistle Swamp and Camel Back Lookout.
