Little Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin     User input for Little Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin: Kirsten Arthur: I am inquiring about Camp Anokijij.  My father was one of the founder's of this camp for the YMCA in Racine, Wisconsin.  He met my mother at this camp.  This would have been in 1927 when the camp was first being built.  I spent my summers as a young girl at Camp Anokijij - living in Squaw Village while my Dad, (Andy Andersen) was working at the camp.  My three older brothers all attended the camp during the summers.   I have many fond memories of this place.  I worked there in 1958 as a senior staff counselor.     I would be interested in visiting there for just a few hours during the week of June 16th - I am traveling in Wisconsin during that week.  I understand that it is no longer a YMCA camp.  I am curious as to who is now running Camp Anokijij.  Interesting that they kept the same name.  I still know the songs that we sang  with Camp Anokijij in it.   Sincerely,  Kirsten Arthur Submit Input: Your Name: Write or Paste Input here: Upload picture:      Review Guidelines        There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Sheboygan River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Gerber Lake. High temperatures at Little Elkhart Lake during the warm months are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Little Elkhart Lake plunge into the 0's. An average amount of rainfall       falls at Little Elkhart Lake; September is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. If you're here at Little Elkhart Lake, do take a visit to Birch Point, and not far from Little Elkhart Lake you'll come across Bullet Lake which is a lovely lake. Dry warm beds await you at Plymouth Inn. Little Elkhart Lake is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, K A Campground is a glorious place to camp nearby; there's whitewater                  on Manitowoc River for all you adrenaline kick people. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. People from Sheboygan love to come to Little Elkhart Lake; Quit QUI OC Golf Course is a golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
