Whitewater paddling is good on Prairie River. There's so much to do here at Knight Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Council Grounds State Park is a nice site for that. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Merrill Super 8 Motel is a good choice, and if you came to camp Birkensee Resort is a good spot to do that. The amount of rain that falls at Knight Lake is close to the       national average; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily September, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. You'll meet a lot of people from Merrill here, and after a long day outdoors Pine Ridge Inn is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two. Any time is a nice time at Knight Lake if you love the outdoors. Granite Peak has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. Get soaked paddling on Pine River; you're probably addicted                  to lakes, Henson Lake is one of those nearby. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Knight Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's.
