    Many people like to go to Keough Lake. Going for a hike on the Newman Springs Ski Trail is always a glorious adventure, and you can run the rapids of Flambeau River - South Fork. At Keough Lake throughout the long summer days highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Keough Lake. Stay the night at Smith River Campground, and  
   Turtle River is a delightful whitewater spot close by.
The skiing at Whitecap Mountain is good. This lake is so wonderful. Keough Lake is a great site to camp, Fishtrap Campground is a great site, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Boot Lake. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Keough Lake; August is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
