Go to Kapes Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. After a long day outdoors Lodge At Crooked Lake is a great place to spend a night or two, and a great site for whitewater paddling is Lower Tamarack River. There are other places here than Kapes Lake, for example Big Doctor Lake, and the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Upper

at Siren Glen Golf Club; Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a good location to get some rest. A typical amount of rainfall falls here at Kapes Lake; most of the rain falls all through June, and the driest of the months is February.
