An average amount of rainfall falls at Johnson Ponds; throughout August this area sees the most rain while February is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Near Johnson Ponds you hit upon the Grottos Trail which is a great hiking trail; Griegol Gulch is a brilliant place to go to. This lake is so       wonderful. Johnson Ponds is not the only spot nearby, 583 Reservoir is a nearby lake, and East Bluff is an interesting thing to see since you're here. During the summer months here at Johnson Ponds, high temperatures usually get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 20's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Johnson Ponds. Camping at Double K-d Ranch Campground is always a nice experience;                  a round of golf at nearby Baraboo Country Club is a delightful way to kill some time. While you're here at Johnson Ponds you will meet lots of people from close by Baraboo. There's whitewater on Skillet Creek for all you adrenaline kick people, and Christmas Mountain has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. There is a tremendous hiking trail right next door to Johnson Ponds called the East Bluff Woods Trail; if you need a place to stay Clarion Hotel and Convention Center is a great choice. You don’t have to go far from Johnson Ponds to distinguish the water at Linen Mill Dam, and do set aside some time for East Bluff Basin while you're here at Johnson Ponds. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great planet it would be. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Baraboo River; if you've had enough of Johnson Ponds, Devils Lake is nearby. Man, is there a lot of exciting things to do in the vicinity of Johnson Ponds.
