From a rain point of view John Lake is a relatively typical place; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is generally the driest month. Summertime highs at John Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at       John Lake fall into the 0's. Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI is a good place to get some rest; you can run the rapids of Pike River - North Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Tranquil Vista Campgrounds is a nice campground here, and during your spree here you'll meet some folks from Iron Mountain for sure. Rosey Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Crivitz Lodge.                  Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Pike River - South Branch; Norway Mountain is a very popular ski area around here. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun.
