Americinn - Ashland, Wi is a fine location to get some rest, and why not camp at Day Lake Campground if you're here at John Frank Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Ashland Super 8 Motel, and John Frank Lake is not the only spot close by, Beaverdam Lake is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Wildwood Haven Resort and Campground is a wonderful       location to camp, and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a magnificent local destination. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Gogebic Range. An afternoon playing golf at Mellen Country Club is always a diversion, and the peak of Gogebic Range can be seen from John Frank Lake. John Frank Lake is one of the lakes here in the Gogebic Range. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to John Frank Lake while night lows are commonly                  in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 20's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at John Frank Lake plunge into the 0's. Good hiking is available along the Black Lake Trail, and if you get bored of John Frank Lake you could also stop at close by Potter Lake. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Gogebic Range. A great site for whitewater paddling right next door to John Frank Lake is Brunsweiler River; the landscape is dominated by the Gogebic Range. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Visit Camp Six Creek while you're here at John Frank Lake; you can go for a hike on the Great Divide Snowmobile Trail.
