Amery Golf Club is a pleasant golf course nearby, and unsurprisingly Balsam Branch is a beautiful stream that is
worth visiting. During the warm months at Joe Lake highs are generally in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's; winter nights come with
lows in the-10's to Joe Lake. Joe Lake gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
