There's great hiking along the Lauterman Trail, and float down the rapids of Popple River in a kayak. This is a nice neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Grandma Lake is a lake nearby; Jaquet Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Florence County Park Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might       be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Beaver Pond; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Crandon Inn & Suites.
