Island Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Grove Campground, LLC is a great local campground; lakes are such calm places, why not go to Beaulieu Lake. A glorious nearby hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites, and get drenched paddling on Wolf River - West Branch. Island Lake is a good site of normal rainfall; the month with most of the rain is September while January is the month with the least       amount of precipitation. All the outdoors enjoyable things right next door to Island Lake will keep you coming back persistently. There's some flowing water close by, Island Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here, and soar down the rapids of Red River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail, and Shawano Super 8 Motel is a brilliant place to get some rest. All through the months of summer highs                  here at Island Lake get into the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's while Island Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. There are other sites here than Island Lake, for example Big Lake.
