If you're visiting Island Lake from Eau Claire, you won't be the only one, and you can go for a hike on the Deer Fly Trail. Nearby lakes? Sure, School Lake is close to Island Lake, and going for a hike on the Hickory Ridge Trail       is always a nice adventure. The amount of precipitation that falls at Island Lake is close to the national average; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Christie Mountain has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff, and get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Duncan Creek. You can take a little trip to Island Lake WP363 Dam if you're here                  at Island Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Glen Loch Motel. Through the long summer days at Island Lake highs are mostly in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Island Lake dip into the-10's. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do near Island Lake.
