While you're here at Island Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Eau Claire. Lakes are fine; Sand Lake is a lake that's near Island Lake. Duncan Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by; naturally, this is a delightful vicinity for folks who like lakes, School Lake       is a lake in close proximity. A glorious close by hotel is Americinn Lodge Ladysmith, and do stop at Island Lake WP363 Dam since you're here. The amount of rainfall that falls at Island Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is August; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chippewa River, and hiking along                  the Hickory Ridge Trail is delightful fun. Throughout the days of summer highs here at Island Lake get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Glen Loch Motel is a pleasant choice; Island Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Lured In Lodge & Campground is a great site to camp nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot.
