The annual precipitation here at Island Lake is about average; most of the rain falls during June; February is the month with the least moisture. The slopes of Trollhaugen are so inviting noone can resist, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Apple River. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Pleasant       Lake, and there are some great whitewater spots on St. Croix River. For the period of the long summer days at Island Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Island Lake. Any time is a wonderful time at Island Lake if you like the outdoors. A golf course in the neighborhood of Island Lake is Krooked                  Kreek Golf Course. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Island Lake has to offer, you can camp at Wildwood Park Campgrounds. Lakes? Sure, Lotus Lake is close at hand, and do pay a visit to Saint Croix National Scenic River if you're here at Island Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Island Lake is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Schillberg's Campgrounds is a glorious site to camp nearby; if you need a site to stay Americinn - New Richmond, Wi is a great choice. Gotta ski!
