While you're here at Howe Lake you can take a hike along the Hay Meadow Trail; if you get bored of Howe Lake you could also explore nearby Boot Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Paradise Shores Resort Hotel is a fine spot to get some rest; the slopes of Christie Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things near Howe Lake. If the weather is glorious here at Howe Lake, you can go for       a hike along the Hickory Ridge Trail, and camping at Lake Wissota State Park is always a glorious experience. Summertime highs at Howe Lake usually tend to be in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Howe Lake. A good place to camp here at Howe Lake is O'Neil Creek Campground, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Duncan Creek. Dry warm                  beds await you at Glen Loch Motel, and there are plenty of folks from Eau Claire here. On a good day at Howe Lake you can take a hike along the Deer Fly Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Chippewa River. From a rainfall point of view Howe Lake is a relatively common spot; August is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest.
